The Remington® R-25 GII is built on the proven DPMS Gen II platform using a proprietary barrel, bolt carrier, and charging handle, using .308 Winchester based cartridges to give you adequate power in a semi-auto rifle for hunting deer and other big game. The R-25 GII operates with a direct-impingement gas system, where gas is ported down a tube into the action to cycle the rotary bolt locking mechanism. The lack of an operating rod and piston allows the barrel to be free-floated, greatly improving inherent accuracy. The Remington R-25 GII Semi-Auto Rifle Receiver Set is compatible with aftermarket DPMS .308 Winchester-type magazines. This receiver set is not compatible with the Gen I DPMS high/low platform.
